The Being Group (Sydney, 2024)

In 2024, TEDxSydney hosted an event centred around the theme of AI’s potential impact on humanity. As the official creative partner, The Being Group was responsible for developing the event’s visual identity, including the key visuals, social media assets, and onsite creative materials.

As a motion designer on the project, I animated the main visual, created motion assets for social platforms, and designed and edited the opening video that was screened at the start of the live event.

Challenge

The opening video needed to be developed under tight time constraints, from concept and storyboarding to final animation. While I led the motion design process, I also collaborated with the graphic designer to ensure the visual direction aligned with the event’s creative vision. This required a fast, focused, and flexible approach to production.

Solution

Building on the core visual concept developed by the graphic designer—representing humans as circles and AI as squares—I used motion to tell a visual story of initial tension, growing harmony, and eventual synergy between the two. The animation incorporated AI-generated images and text, which not only helped streamline production, but also reinforced the video’s message: a creative collaboration between human and machine.
