Fair Work Commission - Right to Disconnect

The Being Group (Sydney, 2024)

In August 2024, Australia introduced the 'Right to Disconnect' law, allowing employees to refuse unreasonable work-related contact outside their regular hours. To help both employers and employees understand this new right, the Fair Work Commission produced an engaging explainer animation.

Challenge

The concept of the 'Right to Disconnect' can be complex and is sometimes misunderstood. The challenge was to break down this idea into clear, digestible information using playful graphics and relatable visuals, making it accessible to a diverse audience.

Solution

To keep viewers interested and convey the message effectively, the animation featured smooth transitions and whimsical details. Characters representing various industries and workforce roles were included to ensure broad relatability. This approach helped deliver the information clearly and concisely to a wide range of viewers.
